Biography
Errol Spence Jr., born Long Island, New York in 1990 and raised in Texas, won the IBF welterweight title in May 2017 (TKO 11 over Kell Brook in Sheffield) and unified the WBC and WBA titles before losing to Terence Crawford in July 2023. A 2018 car accident at high speed nearly killed him; he returned 14 months later. A southpaw pressure fighter with body-work resembling Mike McCallum's, Spence is one of the dominant welterweights of the four-belt era. As of 2026 he is on hiatus.
