Biography
Junto Nakatani, born Kanazawa, Japan in 1997, is the most explosive lower-weight finisher of the post-2020 generation. A southpaw with a textbook straight left and crushing body work, he won the WBO flyweight title in November 2020, the WBO super flyweight title in 2023, and the WBC bantamweight title in February 2024 (TKO 6 over Alexandro Santiago). His February 2025 KO of Vincent Astrolabio in 4 rounds catapulted him into the pound-for-pound top five. The natural unification opponent for Naoya Inoue at 122 if he keeps winning.
