Biography

Shakur Stevenson, born Newark, New Jersey in 1997, won featherweight silver at Rio 2016 (the only American to medal in boxing at those games). He won the WBO featherweight title in 2019, unified the super featherweight titles in 2022 (UD over Oscar Valdez and Robson Conceição), and took the WBC lightweight title from Edwin De Los Santos in November 2024. A pure defensive technician in the Pernell Whitaker–Floyd Mayweather lineage; his style draws aesthetic criticism for being too conservative but his record speaks for itself.
